Tierra Blanca
Tierra Blanca (Tierra Blanca Geisha Coffee) is a Geisha farm founded in 2017 by Kyle Snider and Larry Kolek in Volcán Tierras Altas, on the western side of Volcán Barú in Chiriquí, Panama. In the first year there was no road, and workers climbed the mountain with loads on their backs, holding on to ropes. Today they plant only Geisha on six farms in western Panama, more than 300 acres in all, at 1,400–2,200m.
In 2022 they built their own mill with an optical sorter. At their first Best of Panama in 2024 they placed 5th in Geisha Washed (lot C-5), and that C-5 scored 97 points on Coffee Review.
This lot
C5 is a high plot at 1,850m, the same plot as the lot that placed 5th in Geisha Washed at Best of Panama 2024 (C-5, 94.00 points).
C2, C5 and C7 are the names of plots within the farm. They are not rankings or grades; they refer to where each plot sits and its altitude.
All three lots were grown and harvested at Tierra Blanca Cordillera, and the cherries were taken to the Volcán farm for processing.
Half washed means the cherries are pulped and only part of the mucilage is removed before drying. It keeps the cleanness of a washed coffee while leaving a little more sweetness and texture. We are confirming the exact process with the producer.
